About the Author
Walter A. Henrichsen is a graduate of Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan, and an ordained minister. He has served with the Navigators as area and regional director, assistant to the president, and deputy director for the Pacific Area Navigators (PAN). He is the author of a number of books, including the daily devotional Thoughts from the Diary of a Desperate Man. Involved in helping business and professional men integrate their Christian faith with their vocation, he continues to minister nationally and internationally. He and his wife, Leette, live in San Diego, California. They are the parents of four grown children.
Gayle Jackson has completed many bible studies with Walter Henrichsen and holds the desire that everyone be able to do personal Bible study.

Excellent Presentation of the Inductive Study Method

The primary purpose of this book is to teach the steps used in the "Inductive Study Method." I have personally used this method for the last 4 to 5-years and believe it to be the most comprehensive for studying the Bible.
This book is written for the beginner to intermediate student and explains each step in detail. The book is also divided so as to allow for easy reference in the future. Also included, are several chapters dedicated to practicing some of the methods learned.
Of course, without the involvement of the Holy Spirit, no method of study would be fruitful. But having a series of steps to follow as you study your Bible, will ensure that your study time is thorough - giving the Holy Spirit many opportunities to teach and minister to you.
If you don't know how to REALLY study the Bible - and unfortunately, too many Christians do not, - or perhaps you feel like your missing something in your current method, I want to encourage you to purchase this book and try the Inductive Study Method for yourself. I am confident that as you begin to use this method, God will show you things that you have never noticed before and your knowledge of His word will grow tremendously!

The Bible was written to ordinary people, like you and me.

No book of the Bible has as its subtitle, "For theologians." Every book of the Bible was written by men under inspiration of the Holy Spirit and it was expected that ordinary men and women would be able to read, understand, and follow the commands in it. However, it was written in another language, another culture, and another time. Jackson and Henrichsen have written a well documented, well laid out book that explores the basic principles of how to Observe what the Bible says, Interpret what it means in any culture, in English, and to apply it in the 21st Century. They do not tell you, per se, what it means. They teach you how to discover that for yourself -- not through just one method, but through several. This is a basic, easy to follow book that is good for anybody who wants to understand the Bible, or understand it better.
